A key first-line antibiotic in TB treatment is pyrazinamide (PZA). The authors of this article established an in vitro assay, the time to detection (TTD) assay, to identify persister formation after PZA exposure, by using the BD BACTEC\u2122 MGIT\u2122 960 system. After treatment of Mtb H37Rv with PZA even at 20 times the MIC, not all bacteria were killed, and persisters formed in the culture.","breadcrumb":{"@id":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/2024\/09\/10\/mycobacterium-tuberculosis-persister-cell-formation-after-pyrazinamide-exposure\/#breadcrumb"},"inLanguage":"en-US","potentialAction":[{"@type":"ReadAction","target":["https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/2024\/09\/10\/mycobacterium-tuberculosis-persister-cell-formation-after-pyrazinamide-exposure\/"]}]},{"@type":"ImageObject","inLanguage":"en-US","@id":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/2024\/09\/10\/mycobacterium-tuberculosis-persister-cell-formation-after-pyrazinamide-exposure\/#primaryimage","url":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/zoonoses20240025_fig1.jpg","contentUrl":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/zoonoses20240025_fig1.jpg","width":1996,"height":1567,"caption":"Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Persister Cell Formation after Pyrazinamide Exposure"},{"@type":"BreadcrumbList","@id":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/2024\/09\/10\/mycobacterium-tuberculosis-persister-cell-formation-after-pyrazinamide-exposure\/#breadcrumb","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"name":"Home","item":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/"},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"name":"Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Persister Cell Formation after Pyrazinamide Exposure"}]},{"@type":"WebSite","@id":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/#website","url":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/","name":"Zoonoses Journal","description":"","publisher":{"@id":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/#organization"},"potentialAction":[{"@type":"SearchAction","target":{"@type":"EntryPoint","urlTemplate":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/?s={search_term_string}"},"query-input":{"@type":"PropertyValueSpecification","valueRequired":true,"valueName":"search_term_string"}}],"inLanguage":"en-US"},{"@type":"Organization","@id":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/#organization","name":"Zoonoses Journal","url":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/","logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","inLanguage":"en-US","@id":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/#\/schema\/logo\/image\/","url":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/cropped-cropped-Zoonoses_logo_small-1.png","contentUrl":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/cropped-cropped-Zoonoses_logo_small-1.png","width":512,"height":512,"caption":"Zoonoses Journal"},"image":{"@id":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/#\/schema\/logo\/image\/"},"sameAs":["https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Zoonoses-Journal-100462755574114","https:\/\/x.com\/ZoonosesJ","https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/78022634"]},{"@type":"Person","@id":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/#\/schema\/person\/7b94348b9f4f5d3983636ac0a201853f","name":"Pdrtiru","image":{"@type":"ImageObject","inLanguage":"en-US","@id":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/wp-content\/litespeed\/avatar\/3383aac56276a7e5bca01376d31d06d5.jpg?ver=1774971989","url":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/wp-content\/litespeed\/avatar\/3383aac56276a7e5bca01376d31d06d5.jpg?ver=1774971989","contentUrl":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/wp-content\/litespeed\/avatar\/3383aac56276a7e5bca01376d31d06d5.jpg?ver=1774971989","caption":"Pdrtiru"},"url":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/author\/thiruvalluvan\/"}]}},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1466","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/5"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1466"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1466\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1470,"href":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1466\/revisions\/1470"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/1469"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1466"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1466"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/zoonoses-journal.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1466"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
