Tick-borne pathogens have become emerging global health threats in humans and animals. The objective of this study was to investigate\u00a0<em>Anaplasma, Ehrlichia, Babesia<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Borrelia<\/em>\u00a0in ticks in southern China.<\/p>\n<p>Ticks were collected from animals and identified to the species level. Tick-borne\u00a0<em>Anaplasma<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Ehrlichia<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Babesia<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Borrelia<\/em>\u00a0were tested by PCR assays, and analyzed by sequencing and phylogenetics.<\/p>\n<p>747 ticks were collected, including\u00a0<em>Rhipicephalus microplus<\/em>\u00a0(n=225) and\u00a0<em>R. sanguineus<\/em>\u00a0(n=522), from pet dogs in Guangdong Province of southern China. Using PCR and phylogenetic analysis we showed that these ticks carried\u00a0<em>Anaplasma platys<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Ehrlichia canis<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Borrelia miyamotoi<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Babesia vogeli<\/em>, and an unclassified\u00a0<em>Ehrlichia<\/em>\u00a0species in\u00a0<em>Rhipicephalus<\/em>\u00a0ticks.
